The University of Idaho is assisting the Housing Solutions Partnership with a feasibility study exploring a homestay program to provide housing solutions for education and health care workers. The program could use donated funds to provide grants to homeowners who would like to rent a portion of their home, but can’t because of lack of egress windows, separate entrance, off-street parking or an additional, private bathroom. In exchange for funding, homeowners would agree to provide housing for a set period of time. The goal is to conduct the study Fall 2024 with results by January 2025.
